Piraeus Cruise Terminal: “A living project,” Hardalias emphasized

“The expansion of the cruise pier in Piraeus is an ambitious project for Attica,” stressed Attica Regional Governor Nikos Hardalias to the President and Director of the Board of the COSCO Shipping Zhu Bixin, during their meeting in Shanghai, as part of his official visit.

“This project,” said Mr. Hardalias, “will give new impetus to our great port. It is expected to reach a cost of up to 100 million euros, an amount that covers 5% of the total budget of the new NSRF.”

He also noted that the competent services of the Region are proceeding in a coordinated manner with all the necessary actions, in order to remove any delays and obstacles so that the implementation of the project can begin as soon as possible. For its part, the management of COSCO asked for Mr. Hardalia’s help in finalizing procedural issues of the Region’s competence, as well as direct cooperation in promoting “green” shipping and the “smart” supply chain in the context of the company’s strategy to make Piraeus its most pivotal center at the European level.
